Palm Jumeirah, DubaiPalm Jumeirah is among the three artificial islands of Dubai.

It is shaped like a palm tree with sixteen island palm fronds and an outer arc that serves as a breakwater too.

The island adds a total of 78 kilometers to Dubai’s coastline and offers a total of 4,000 residences.

Aside from that it is also home to several luxurious hotels and resorts like the Atlantis which opened in September of 2008.

The center of the island which is the trunk of the palm island is called as the Golden Mile. Residents have started to relocate to this island, town, resort and residential place since April of 2009.

However, according to sources, the cost of living in Palm Jumeirah is quite expensive but due to the global financial crisis, prices have gone done 40%.
